Dowie comments on the Brighton game

“I’m immensely proud of the players, I think there were 7 under 18’s. But you’re going to get bits of inexperience and bits of slack defending. I’m taking positives out of it. I’m sick as a dog about the goals but you’ve got to be positive. I can’t fault the heart, I can’t fault the spirit and I can’t fault the football - I thought that the football was excellent. I would say that I thought that we played more football than they did. I cannot fault the football. I thought we passed the ball great. I won’t hump the ball forward. I won’t do it."

"If you’ve not got enough product in sustainable squad then you’ll lose games. I’m looking round and who do you put on? My boy was warming up on the sideline at one time! I’m not despondent though. I thought that the lads gave their heart and soul. We lost the result but I don’t think that there were any losers out there today.”
