Dowie's after-match thoughts on Northampton

I don’t know what the manager Iain Dowie had been drinking, but he was upbeat, and his after-match comments were,

“It was an absolutely vital win, I don't think there's any easy games. I thought from the word go we got the ball down well and passed it. When we got our passing game going, we had a big outlet in Josh and some excellent passing.
Wayne was a threat all day and we gradually wrestled the game apart from some bits from Lee Harsley in the first half and one bit of misfortune when the keeper pushed a couple out and we didn't follow in. I thought we could have gone in two up at half time. With all due respect, I thought we were always in control. Asamoah's a threat. He's got pace. Gabbiadini's a clever player and I think Harsley's decent.”

“Wayne Andrews second goal was difficult as it was dropping out of the sky. He was nice and relaxed. Sometimes he's anxious but that will come with time. That's seven or eight goals now. He put it on like a paintbrush. You know nice and slow and rythmical. A beautiful looping volley and then at the end that's what he's all about. Nice and brave with the header and he breaks away and a good finish.”
