After the 'War of the Roses' clash at Boundary Park the Oldham boss Iain Dowie said, “In terms of possession and the chances we created we deserved all three points. I was a bit worried about this one because I knew Barnsley would pose a big threat up front but we handled them well. Josh is always dangerous and he took his goal very calmly but there were plently of other good performers like Darren Sheridan and Paul Murray who was terrific. And I still have not given up hope of automatic promotion. If we can win our last five we will definitely be in the shake up.”

Of Andrews goal, the boss commented, “I know it may sound ridiculous but the
goals he scores, I don't think anyone else can score them at the club. I’m not too sure how many he has scored in the league but it's a wonderful roll he’s playing. We worked on that and planned on getting it into his feet so that he can
roll it around. I thought the front two (Andrews and Winjhard) were outstanding for the whole game. I thought their hold up play and link play was terrific and I thought Andrews was a real threat. Clyde also played one or two magnificent balls. It was a great game of football. I thought they came to play football which was pleasing. They didn't come to shut up shop but they came to have a go and they've got players who can do that. I think Dyer, Sheron, Betsy, Lumsdon and Morgan are good players. This was one that half worried me a bit, but I was very, very pleased with the result and we ground it out which was important.”
