Early Christmas present from Latics

The Latics are offering an early Christmas present to their fans by allowing heavily reduced admission prices for the home game against Exeter City, the last before the festive season begins. The cost for Saturday's game will be £2 for adults and £1 and under 16's and over 65's. Not only will the reduced prices be given but another incentive to boost the gate will be the offering of a discount voucher, worth up to £10, which can be used in the club shop. Tickets can be purchased at the turnstiles and do not need to be pre-paid.

New marketing manager Guy Walker admitted, "We know how tough it is financially at the moment and with Christmas coming up the finances tend to get even more critical, so by offering these incredibly low admission prices we hope that the fans will appreciate our efforts and come along to support the team."

Two season's ago a similar scheme worked wonders by boosting the attendances against Brighton and Northampton. Gates of 9,321 and 10,207 were recorded respectively.

Walker continued, "If we can get similar numbers for the Exeter game that we had two years ago that would be absolutely brilliant. The team have been struggling recently but if we can get the crowd behind them it can make all the difference."
