Teenage striker Tom Eaves has spoken of his joy at finally breaking his duck when he hit his hat trick against Bolton Wanderers in midweek.

A delighted Eaves said, “It has been a long wait for my first goal as I came on as a substitute 16 times for the first team last season. I would come on for the last 20 minutes and couldn't get a goal, but last night was different. Against Bolton I got one and then they all started to go in. I have been practicing finishing with the gaffer in training and luckily it paid off. It was simply a case of taking the chances which came my way and luckily they went in and I am made up to have scored three."

“I noticed a big difference playing against Bolton's defenders as they were a lot more experienced and stronger than players I have previously come up against. Luckily I found a way to score against Bolton and hopefully I will also do so more in the future. There has been a lot of talk, but I am happy to be here and to be in the team, and grateful to be in the squad. I am looking to get a good run of games in the side, get more consistency to my game and to try and score more goals."
