Paul Edwards move to Port Vale was motivated by the opportunity for him to play on the wing. He made most of his appearances last season at left-back but Vale would like him to to operate as a winger.He said, "I could have taken more money to play elsewhere, but I like it here at Port Vale and I like what the manager has had to say. He wants me to play on the left wing, which is my natural position. Also, this is a great pitch. It's massive. I have always liked playing at Vale Park because you have so much space. Now I can play here every other Saturday. I accept you can't play well every game, but fans will always see graft and effort from me and I think I have a lot to offer the team both attacking and defensively."
