The draw for the third round of the FA Cup has been made and Athletic will visit Wolverhampton Wanderers. It is a match that Athletic need hold no fears of if history and tradition has anything to do with it. The Latics have met Wolves 41 times and have won 18 to Wolves 14 wins. Athletic have outshot Wolves by 65 goals to 59 and their best win was the 6-0 drubbing at Boundary Park in the 1929-30 season. The last seven visits to Molineaux resulted as follows:

26/3/83 Wolves 0 Latics 0
16/3/85 Wolves 0 Latics 3
28/11/89 Wolves 1 Latics 1
25/8/90 Wolves 2 Latics 3
17/4/95 Wolves 2 Latics 1
18/11/95 Wolves 1 Latics 3
14/12/96 Wolves 0 Latics 1

It is a match that the Latics can win if they maintain their current form.

Other draws paired Chelsea with the bottom team in the Football League. It is a dream tie for Macclesfield Town who have failed to win a league game all season and look favourites to be relegated out of the league. The gate at Stamford Bridge will be of huge significance to Macc for the rest of the season.

Tamworth have been rewarded with a home to against Norwich and Blackpool will take on non-league opposition at Bloomfield Road when they entertain Aldershot or Basingstoke. The big draw for Premiership teams is the clash of Liverpool and Arsenal.
