Facey moves to Tranmere

Delroy Facey was the only mover at Boundary Park as the tranfer window passed. Facey had not really been given a good enough chance to impress but Tranmere obviously saw some potential in him as they bought him as a replacement for Iain Hume who has gone to Leicester. Moore suggested that Facey had not shown what he could do and was not satisfied with his overall contribution.

Ronnie Moore commented, “We got Chris Swailes in at the start of the season on the basis that I would have to get rid of a player in order to make room to bring him in, and the Chairman has held me to it. Delroy hasn't shown us what he is capable of. I'm not sure what his best position is and I don't think he knows either. He has played a lot of games down the middle and a lot of games wide on the right. I just don't think he has contributed enough. If he goes to Tranmere and plays well then that's fine, but at this present time I don't think we have to much to worry about. Delroy may go to a different side and score 20 goals. That has happened to me. Sometimes a change can work but lets hope this one doesn't. I want Delroy to do well, but not when he's playing against us.”

Let's hope he doesn't come back to haunt us.
