The Latics have made their first signing of the summer. Midfielder Dan Gardner has signed a two-year deal after being out of contract with Chesterfield.
Gardner scored 10 goals in 109 appearances for the Spireites and began his career at Crewe Alexandra. The attacking player moved to Droylsden and then joined AFC Halifax Town where he made 51 appearances, scoring 17 times.
