Footwear gives claws for concern

Chaddy the Owl’s remarkable win in the Mascot’s Grand National is undergoing a stewards enquiry. Other mascots have complained that Chaddy’s footwear was unfair and illegal. Commenting, Chaddy said, “I wore the same boots that I wore last year and they cost me the race then. I won the race for the Oldham fans who backed me heavily. They had a flutter on me and I wanted to win them some money so I winged it. The whole thing was a hoot! I’m now in
training for next year and they won't knock me off my perch.”
