Jonathan Forte has won the League One player of the month prize for October but he has accepted the award on behalf of the team. Forte's 11 goals have contributed to the honour and it is some time ago since the Latics had one of their players in the goalscoring charts.
Forte said, “I’m very happy to get the award. I have to thank all the team who have helped me get it. They have been creating plenty of chances for me and, thankfully, I have been scoring. Last year I didn’t play at all and I just had a burning desire to play again.”
