Freak injury may keep Reeves out of Wigan clash

David Reeves (pictured) was injured when he was hit by a football just two minutes before the kick-off at Bury. He was hit in the face and knocked backwards onto the ground. Latics physio Paul Caton noticed that Reeves had problems with his eyesight and the subs had to warm up.

Mick Wadsworth said, “We tried to get him right, but he couldn’t see anything out of his right eye and had double vision in the other. It’s an unbelievable piece of bad luck. There was no chance of keeping him on – he just couldn’t see what was happening.” The problem could clear up before the trip to Wigan but Athletic will be without Paul Murray as he serves a one-match ban. John Sheridan and Lee Duxbury should both be back from injury.
