Defender Danny Hall has received good news from his specialist and surgery will not now be needed on his injured knee. His tendonitis and kneecap problems meant that he could have been out of action for up to 18 months. John Breckin, Athletic’s assistant manager told the Chronicle, “It was decided he’s too young to have an operation like that. Surgery is very much the last resort, so Danny is back under the physio and continuing with his treatment. The specialist didn’t want to operate and we obviously go along with that because it’s the sensible option for Danny. We aren’t completely ruling him out for the season, but it’s doubtful he’ll be back in the next few weeks.”
