Grayson has not written off Athletic

Blackpool manager Simon Grayson was obviously delighted with his sides win at Boundary Park but was quick not to write off Athletic's chances of promotion.

He commented, "We knew it'd be a close game without many goals, and that proved to be the case. It was a typical Lancashire derby, real end-to-end stuff, and fortunately we've ended up with the three points. We missed a few chances, and you're always wondering 'are they going to cost us?' We counter-attacked very well in the second half but the final effort let us down, and you're left wondering if we're going to hang on. Then the free-kick hits the bar in the last minute and fortunately for us that's game over. We defended with great resolve throughout the team, and now we've got to give it our all from now until the end of the season. We'll keep trying to get on the front front, defend properly and create chances and see where that takes us."

"Oldham are a good team, but it's just not happening for them at the moment. The free-kick off the bar in the last minute just typifies the run they're on at the moment. They're a good team who are capable of beating anyone, and I'm sure it won't be long before they start winning again."
