Gregan allowed to go on loan

Athletic captain Sean Gregan has been allowed to leave Boundary Park on loan so that he can regain regular first-team football. He held talks with Paul Dickov about his future and the manager commented, "I can understand Sean's frustration. He is a great professional and all he wants to do is play games. In view of that, I have made him available to go out on loan."

Gregan is now 36 and has appeared for the reserves this season but his only first-team outing came last Saturday when he came on as a late substitute against Leyton Orient. Ironically, Reuben Hazell was withdrawn from today's starting line up at Brentford through injury.
