Sean Gregan has parted company with the Latics after having his contract terminated at Boundary Park. Gregan severs ties after a four year stay in which he made 143 first team appearances while scoring two goals. Gregan is 36 and has been on loan at Fleetwood Town for the last three months and has now finalised a deal with them which will keep him at the Highbury Stadium for the remainder of the season.

The former club captain was praised by Alan Hardy who said, “During the four years Sean has been here, he has been a fantastic servant to the club. That was epitomised with his playing record last season in which he appeared in every minute of every game for the club. On behalf of everybody at the club, I would like to wish Sean every success in the remainder of his playing career.”

Gregan responded, “The board have been as good as gold with me and I want to give special mention to Alan Hardy and Simon Corney. They have both been very supportive on and off the field, particularly when I had problems of various kinds in my life two years ago. A real big thank you goes out to them both.”
