Athletic's Sean Gregan has been offered a new deal at Boundary Park. The 35-year-old centre-half has been, arguably, the club's most consistent player and has taken the 'man of the match' award on numerous occasions. Dave Penney had released Gregan at the start of the summer although weeks later he had a change of heart and offered him fresh terms.
Gregan told Athletic's official website, "I am delighted to have signed. It is now about getting some results on the pitch and for us to get out of the position in which we find ourselves. I have never been one to sit in the comfort zone and I am already looking for my next contract as I want to play as long as possible, whether in this division, the one below or with my mates on a Sunday morning."
