Griffin to join Oxford?

Athletic manager Ronnie Moore has extended Adam Griffin's loan period with Oxford by another month. Griffin does not come into Moore's plans and he is enjoying his spell at Oxford under former Latics boss Brian Talbot. Oxford are keen to make the deal permanent and it is expected that a deal will be finalised when the transfer window opens up again in January.

Moore said, “I’m in no rush to say ‘off you go’, but I wouldn’t stand in his way either. Griff is looking for first-team football and I just can’t see him getting into our side. He has done well for Oxford. We’ve had him watched a couple of times and I know they are pleased with him. They want to keep him on loan at the moment, but we’ll sort something out at the end of the month.”

21 year old Griffin's current contract runs until the end of next season but Talbot is expected to agree a contract with the Latics which will not involve a transfer fee.
