William Gros has left Athletic as Lee Johnson has decided not to renew his contract. He was on a month-to-month contract but Johnson suggested that Gros would benefit from first team football, something that could not be guaranteed at Boundary Park.
Johnson said, “I spoke to Willie last night and he is unlucky really. He has done well and he's shown a good attitude. I felt for him and us, it wasn't quite right. At this stage of his career, he needs to be starting games. He's a good player and he did a job for us when he needed to so I wish him well for the future.”
