Haining Has Operation. Talbot Targets Two Defenders

Will Haining has had problems in the past with his heel when wearing boot and has had an operation to shave his heel bone to give him more comfort when playing. He his expected to resume full training in time for when pre-season training starts up at the start of July.

Meanwhile Brian Talbot is targeting a couple of centre backs to bolster the Latics squad for next season. All we know so far is both are ‘stalwarts’ of their defences. One is a 25 year old who plays in the Second Division. Possible players it could be include Chris Coyne (Luton Town), Graeme Lee (Sheffield Wednesday) and Arthur Gnohere (QPR). The second player is a 24 year old Third Division player who has played 150 games for his current club. The only possible targets who fit the bill is Leon Cort (Southend United).
