Haining out for at least a month

There is more bad injury news for Athletic with the news that defender Will Haining (pictured) will be out of action for at least a month. Haining has a torn hamstring after leaving the Bolton game limping. With Dean Holden, Chris Killen, Scott Vernon and Rodney Jack already out of Saturdays home game against Swindon, manager Brian Talbot is again struggling to put a team together.

He said, “We seem to be having terrible luck at the moment, but we’ve just got to battle on. We’re up to our limit for loan players and I can’t go out and sign someone permanently. Will Haining has to go in for a scan and we’ll find out the extent of his problem, but we fully expect a torn hamstring. It’s a blow, especially as Dean Holden is out as well, but young Kelvin Lomax is doing okay and he can slot into the team.”
