Luton boss Mick Harford praised his young striker Ryan Charles who scored his first goal for the club on his home debut and set the Hatters on the road to victory over the Latics. Harford said, "I will dedicate it to Ryan Charles who got his first ever goal for Luton Town. It's a start. I take my hat off to the players. I'm delighted for the young lad Ryan Charles, he has been a breath of fresh air. He capped it off with what I thought was a great goal today. That's the first time I've picked the same team since I've been here for two consecutive games. It always helps when you have a settled team. Sometimes when you get yourself in a rut and don't win games the confidence goes down."

"All credit to the players. They turned in a performance which is the level which I've been looking for. It was a thoroughly deserved win. Obviously the sending off had a part to play in the game. It was an obvious penalty and we ran out deserved winner. We got the clean sheet and we could have had a couple more goals. We dominated the game. We've been on a disappointing run which has been hard to take. That result will give the players a lot of confidence and belief. I have always remained positive. We've always had the belief in the players. They have set the standard now and we've got to maintain that for the rest of the season. I thought we started the game very well. We haven't started a game like that since I've been at the club."
