Hewitson puts Latics top of the league

Scott Hewitson did ‘a Latics’ and left it till the last minute to scoop top spot in the popular FootyMad Beat theManager game for the 2004-2005 season. Scott, a member of the LSC, Canada even embarrassed his mentor, The Chairman, who could only finish in 4th. place.

Scott’s team “SuperHotPants” not only won the Oldham Divisional League but his correct 2-1 prediction on the final day of the season gave him a total of 318 points which also made him top dog in the League One Table. His points total knocked nearest rival Belle Vue Boys of Doncaster Rovers into second spot. It was a remarkable achievement as there were 626 players taking part in the game.


Also representing Oldham well was Tansy Jones’ “Keep The Faith” team which finished in second spot with 265 points and Adam Gordon’s “Clitheroe Latics” who finished third with 223 points. The Chairman’s team “Vancouver Whitecaps” finished fourth with 199 points. The final top ten standings are as follows:

Scott Hewitson (SuperHotPants) 318 points - 1st. place Latics and 1st. Place in Division

Tansy Jones (Keep The Faith) 265 points - 2nd. place Latics and 8th. Place in Division

Adam Gordon (Clitheroe Latics) 223 points - 3rd. place Latics and 32nd. Place in Division

The Chairman (Vancouver Whitecaps) 199 points - 4th. place Latics and 59th. Place in Division

Alex Entwistle (Chaddyentwistles) 187 points - 5th. place Latics

Pete Howarth (Masked Owls) 178 points - 6th. Place Latics

Kevin Purcell (Blueman) 172 points - 7th. place Latics

Daniel Greenough (OAFC Bogeyman Rules) - 8th. place Latics

Derek Marsh (Oldham Exiles) 152 points - 9th. place Latics

Gavin Clark (Durham Blues) 151 points - 10th. place Latics
