Hillstone Developments have agreed to relinquish the final year of their shirt sponsorship deal. Hillstone are currently in administration but still have a season to run on their three year sponsorship agreement which was the biggest deal in the club's history. They have offered this gesture to the club in the hope of bringing in further revenue. Alan Hardy said, "The club would like to thank Hillstone for the huge gesture they have made in releasing us from the final year of the deal. Their magnanimous decision allows us to draft in another shirt sponsor to secure vital revenue at a time when the nationwide financial situation is difficult. We would like to thank Hillstone for their co-operation and outstanding support."

As a result the Latics have agreed to exchange any of the fluo yellow kit that have been bought by their fans. When a new sponsor is acquired any supporters who purchased the Carlotti fluo yellow away shirt will be entitled to swap their shirt for the new version. Alan Hardy added, "The club regrets any inconvenience this move has caused to our loyal supporters. Unfortunately the sequence of events which transpired was out of our control and we will do everything possible to help fans who have already purchased a new away kit. We hope to have the new sponsor confirmed soon."
