Amidst rumours of an HMRC ‘swoop’ on the club, Latics’ chief executive Mark Moisley has confirmed the story and admits that Oldham Athletic are co-operating fully with their officers.
The incident occurred on Monday morning when officers went through paperwork, taking some away with them. He was quick to add that the visit would not have any effect on the proposed takeover of the club.
Simon Corney has already contacted the Football League with details about a potential sale as they are required to review club takeovers.
