Holden could be back quicker than expected

Team captain Dean Holden could be back playing for the Latics in as little as three weeks. The good news is that his injured ankle ligaments are not thought as serious as originally suspected. Holden took the knock at Colchester on 3rd. January and it was thought that he may be out until April but recent scans have revealed no break, hence the unexpected early return to action.

Holden said, “It should be four weeks maximum but I’m usually a decent healer and I’m hoping for something less. To be out long term would have been terrible, so the specialist’s advice was a big relief.”
