Hughes back to his best form

Lee Hughes came back to his best form and he scored two goals and created the other for Chris Taylor. The goals are Hughes' first for Athletic at first team level and manager John Sheridan thinks that this could be the turning point of the season.

Shez told Latics World, "They were great goals and that's good for Lee's confidence. I thought he played very well, particularly in the second half where he got into some good areas and caused a lot of problems. He set up Chris Taylor as well, and it's nice to have different people scoring goals for us. He just took a bit of a chance and had a go (for the first goal), and luckily for us it flew in off the bar. It's good to see any goal go in, but that was a great strike. Lee was aware, he knew the goalkeeper was off his line and that's what goalscorers do. Hopefully he can carry on doing it."
