Hughes to become a permanent fixture?

When Mark Hughes arrived on loan at Boundary Park from Premiership Spurs last November last year, who would have thought that he could have made such an impression? His loan period was extended and he has now made 29 appearances and is destined to remain at Boundary Park until the end of the season, if not longer.

Ronnie Moore makes no bones that he would like to retain the young midfielders services and his performance in a new role in front of the back four last week prompted the Latics manager to tell the official site, “I thought Hughes came in and did an exceptional job for us. He's gone and won headers and sat there and won tackles. I thought he was not far off being our best player at Milton Keynes.”
