Hunt for new Chairman begins

Athletic are desperately appealing for new investors to step forward and rescue the club as Chris Moore’s financial support is running out and he wants to offload some of his 95 per cent stake. Moore has ploughed up to £4 million into Athletic since he took over. The terrorist attacks in America hit Moore heavily and business commitments now mean that he can’t devote as much time to Athletic.

Alan Hardy has revealed that someone is already interested in filling the vacant Chairman’s role at Boundary Park. He said, “I have spoken, by telephone, to someone who I thought may be interested in the position of Chairman. It is very early days and there is no point in me saying that someone is lined up for the role because that is not the case. However I am hoping to arrange for an informal meeting with the person concerned within the next ten days.”
