The Latics played a 4-4-2 formation and won comfortably against the host team by 7-0 to book their place in the final of the Isle of Man Tournament. The Latics dominated the first half and took the lead in the 13th. Minute through Chris Killen after a fine header from Chris Porter (pictured). Porter was outstanding and he scored Oldham's second with a header in the 28th. minute. Just before the half-time whistle Porter completed his brace and Facey scored to put the Latics 4-0 ahead.

The second half continued much the same and the Latics had an early appeal for a penalty turned down before Killen got his second on the hour. Griffin made it 6-0 in the 77th. minute and the same player completed the scoring in the last minute with a well taken free kick which went in off the inside of the post. Although the standard of opposition was questionable, it was a comprehensive display from the boys in blue.
