It's 'make your mind up' time for ex-loan star Neil Kilkenny who has until tomorrow to decide whether he wants to play in Athletic's FA Cup trip to Everton. The permanent deal must be concluded by lunchtime for him to be eligible for the tie at Goodison Park on Saturday.

Athletic have already agreed a six figure transfer fee with Birmingham and a personal package which would make the midfielder the highest paid player at Boundary Park. Kilkenny has returned to Birmingham to conclude his transfer out, whether that be to the Latics or League One rivals Doncaster Rovers who have also put in a bid for his services.

Alan Hardy commented, "I spoke to Neil yesterday and I expressed as strongly as I can that we would love him to join us, something which also applies to the fans. That is why we have agreed a sizeable transfer fee and also made him an offer which would make him our highest-paid player."
