It's Yeovil at home

Athletic will entertain League Two champions Yeovil when the season kicks off on 6th. August, the opening day of the new season. The Latics will travel to Swindon on the following Tuesday 9th. August. Other newcomers Nottingham Forest begin life in the third tier of English football for the first time since 1951 with a home clash against Huddersfield Town. Franchise FC begin their fight for survival with a home game against Bournemouth. With eight new signings already, Ronnie Moore’s squad for the coming season is shaping up as follows:

GOALKEEPERS (1)
Les Pogliacomi

DEFENDERS (9)
Rob Scott
Terrell Forbes
Marc Tierney
Adam Griffin
Stefan Stam
Will Haining
Danny Hall
Guy Branston
Gareth Owen

MIDFIELDERS (6)
Paul Edwards
Mark Hughes
Mark Bonner
Paul Warne
Richie Wellens
Richard Butcher

FORWARDS (3)
Delroy Facey
Chris Killen
Chris Porter

If Moore can recruit another recognised striker and a goalkeeper to put pressure on Les Pogliacomi the future will look brighter than it has done since the Latics demise from the heady heights of the Premiership. Let the banter and speculation begin!
