Jack's the lad

Rodney Jack is set to be released by Rushden and Diamonds later this week which should pave the way for Brian Talbot to add another piece of his jigsaw puzzle to complete his team picture. Jack made an official transfer request which left the Nene Park management not much option other than to cancel his contract. Although he still had another year to go, Jack was unhappy with the teams downward spiral which resulted in relegation at the end of last season.

When he becomes a free agent on Wednesday he will link up with his old manager and is expected to sign a one year deal. He would then join the other players for pre season training which starts on Thursday. Jack can operate as a conventional striker or on either side up front and he got a total of 12 goals which resulted in him being named players’ player of the season. Talbot has been closely monitoring the goings on at R & D and never gave up hope of reuniting with the player who played under him at R & D and previously at Crewe Alexandra.
