Jarvis to leave Boundary Park

Sean Jarvis (40) is leaving Boundary Park after six years. He is to take up the post of Director of Business Development for Huddersfield Town and Huddersfield Giants. Jarvis admits that his departure will be tinged with sadness and said, "I wasn't looking to leave Latics but when I was offered this job it was an opportunity I couldn't turn down. I will be overseeing the commercial activities for both Town and Giants, who share the Galpharm Stadium, and trying to move both of them forward. It's a new challenge and with a new stadium already built there will be more scope to expand commercial activities."

Jarvis was instrumental in saving Athletic when they went into administration and actually had a short spell as co-owner of Athletic when he and Company Accountant Neil Joy paid one pound to Chris Moore to transfer his club holding to them. He went on, "That is something I will never forget, along with the tremendous support the people of Oldham gave the club during that difficult period. It was an incredible challenge for me personally, and receiving the Chronicle's ‘Pride in Oldham' award was the highlight of my time here because to be recognised within the town for the work I had done was special."

In his short spell at Boundary Park, Jarvis has worked with six different managers and three different owners. His highlights have been the FA Cup win against Manchester City and the Worthington Cup wins against Derby and West Ham. He concluded, "I hope the dream of a new stadium here is realised because the town deserves a facility which it can be proud of. And I have no doubts that there is potential here for Oldham to become Manchester's third club." All at Oldham Footy Mad wish Sean the best in his new position.
