JJ fights his way back

Jermaine Johnson has proved to Ronnie Moore that he is worthy of a place in the Oldham line up even though he recently had his contract cancelled by previous manager Brian Talbot. Moore admits that there is room for
improvement and said, “Jermaine's got to play down the middle and he's a constant threat, there's no doubt. He just needs to improve on his finishing and hopefully we can do that with him.”

Johnson played for most of the reserves midweek game and came close to scoring and Moore went on, “He did okay, but you pull your hair out with him. I think that's his spot. You've got to play him up front. I think you take a hell of a gamble if you bring him on and play him at right wing like we did at Milton Keynes. At home you might get away with it but away from home, when you're looking for discipline and to stay tucked in and do the right things, I don't think so.”

Johnson is expected to start on the bench in Saturday’s big game against Sheffield Wednesday.
