John Sheridan is under no illusions

New Athletic manager John Sheridan is under no illusions about the task ahead. He and managing director Simon Corney will get together this week to discuss the way forward for the Latics. Money will be tight, especially if compensation is to be paid for the sensational dismissal of Ronnie Moore and his backroom staff.

Shez told the official website, "I know things will be tight and my first job will be to get some players out. But you have to get on with the cards you are dealt and I will be looking to bring in better players to improve the side. I have a number of them in mind and I will be in the club on Monday morning making the necessary inquiries. There is a lot of hard work ahead but I am looking forward to it."
