John Sheridan Testimonial to be a star studded affair

John Sheridan will play 45 mins. for each team in his benefit game which takes place on Sunday 1st. May at Boundary Park. The Latics will entertain Sheffield Wednesday and both teams will be star studded as players are flocking to take part in the tribute game for such a highly respected player.


The Latics team will include Gary Kelly, Denis Irwin, Andy Ritchie, Darren Sheridan, Frankie Bunn, Neil Redfearn, Shaun Garnett, Mike Millighan, Lee Duxbury, Rick Holden, Tommy Wright and Ian Snodin. Invitations have also been sent out to Roger Palmer and Paul Scholes and ex-Latics manager Iain Dowie has expressed a wish to play as has Richard Jobson and Neil Adams.


The Sheffield Wednesday side will include Paul Gascoigne, Chris Waddle, Chris Woods, Peter Shirtliff, Paul Warhurst, Nigel Jemson, Carlton Palmer, John Hurst, Viv Anderson, John Barnes, Peter Beardsley, Mark Bright, Richie Humphries, Glynn Snodin, Kevin Moran, Scott Sellers as well as Coronation Street star Tommy Craig.
