The Latics are starting their “Sponsor A Seat” campaign to help out with their current financial problems. The scheme, costing £10 per seat, will see all the money raised going directly to the club. Every Latics supporter who contributes will get their name emblazoned on the back of a seat in the ground, have their name published in the Oldham Evening Chronicle and will also receive a car sticker which proclaimes “I’ve joined the Latics SAS”.

The ground contains 13,500 seats and season ticketholders are guaranteed priority bookings. The Latics chairman Chris Moore (pictured) said: “The finances of the club are in a very precarious position and our survival is threatened but we are in there fighting. We can’t do it on our own and we need help. With the ongoing support of our passionate supporters I am certain we will get through this. The Sponsor a Seat campaign allows all fans to come together and get behind the team quickly and generate valuable funds for the club. It is our target to get every seat sponsored. I would urge fans and their relatives, local businesses, and even supporters of other teams to back our campaign as much as they possibly can.”
