Jones happy to come to Oldham

Wolves' left back Daniel Jones has put pen to paper to sign a month loan deal at Athletic. Manager John Sheridan told Latics World, "Daniel is a good player who I've always liked, and I've been after him for a while. He gave us more threat on the left against Stockport, but it wasn't to be on that occasion and now we're working hard ahead of this weekend's game. Daniel brings that bit of balance to the side and he's a very good player."

The 21-year-old told of the speed of the recruitment, "I was training at Wolves and was getting changed before we set off for the game at Swansea. I thought I was going down with the other lads when Mick McCarthy called me in and asked me if I fancied going on loan to Oldham. I said yes straight away and jumped at the chance to come here, and everything was sorted out quickly. I had to come up in my Wolves tracksuit and I felt a bit stupid as the first one in the dressing-room at Stockport, but there was no time as I had to drive straight up from the training ground."

"I was told I was playing so that was even better. I hadn't played in three weeks but I think things went okay - apart from the result, obviously. I'm here until the beginning of November, and hopefully I can do well enough to stop on and play longer. All I want to do is play football so I'd definitely consider staying here."
