Kean keen to impress

The Latics have signed Jake Kean on loan from Blackburn Rovers and the 23-year-old goalkeeper is looking forward to his stay at Boundary Park.

Prior to making his debut in the 3-0 home win over Notts County he said, "It was on the cards for a couple of days but it took a while to finally get it sorted out with Blackburn rather than Oldham. The manager was pushing to get it done and we have finally got it through in time. At the minute, the right thing for me to do is get away from the place and concentrate on playing my football and enjoying it again elsewhere."

"Whatever comes my way, hopefully I can deal with, get the first clean sheet and get off to a good start. It's always nice to get a clean sheet but it's not the be-all and end-all but if I can do my job and the defence do their job then we'll all stick together and it's down to the lads at the other end of the pitch to seal it for us."

His wish was confirmed with his shut-out against County.
