Keeper to be offered new contract?

Trialist goalkeeper Alan Blayney is to be offered a permanent deal at Boundary Park after showing promise in training and for putting in as good performance in the reserves 1-0 reserve win at Chester.

Manager John Sheridan said, "I'd like to sort something out and I'll be chatting with the lad and offering him something until the end of the season. He's a good keeper with first team experience, but Les is playing very well at the moment. I'll be making it clear to Alan this deal will just be as cover but I think he's the person who can push Les even further. If Les was to pick up an injury I'd feel very comfortable putting Alan in."
