Striker Chris Killen has been selected by the New Zealand F.A. for the Confederations Cup tournament which takes place in France this summer. New Zealand have group matches against Japan on 18 June 2003 in Paris, Columbia on 20 June 2003 in Lyon and hosts France on 22 June 2003 in Paris. Chris has scored 12 goals in 17 games for New Zealand and they would like him to be available for them from 22nd. May to 30th. June. The time period includes two friendly internationals, one against Scotland in Edinburgh and the other against the United States of America.
If the Latics are involved in the play off finals on May 25th. at the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff the club may ask if Killen will be allowed to join the squad late.
