Lang gives his view

The Latics made a spirited attempt on Tuesday night, even after being reduced to ten men near the end of the first half, in the 1-1 draw with table-topping Lincoln City. Striker Callum Lang was quick to praise his teammates and said he was disappointed that they only came away from the match with one point.

Lang said, “It was definitely a tough one especially after the Tranmere game where we put a big shift in and going home, we were gutted there because we should have taken three points away from that. Today it was obviously a lot harder when we went down to ten men and we proved how much belief there is in this squad since we didn't stop working until the very end. On another day we might nick it at the end, we had two or three chances where we possibly could have scored but I thought the whole team were great throughout.”

“I think it shows a lot that we're disappointed not to win in the end, but we've had a season of up and downs. We've had patches where we haven't been good enough and patches where should more points than what we have. Losing Gards to an injury is a big loss, he's a big player for us, a few more are also out at the minute. It's tough but we're pulling through with the games coming thick and fast and we've got to keep working. We all know how busy the Christmas period is and we've just got to prepare well for every game as much as we can. We've got a lot of travelling to do, obviously with the Maidstone game, but we'll all be right by game day and we keep fighting.”

“I think even before these five games unbeaten there were games where we've lost like Stevenage and even then, you could say it was turning. It was another game you could say where we needed to be taking more than what we did, so I think it's been a long time coming. Now we've hit a good period at a good time with the games coming quick and if we could change some of these draws into wins it’d stand us in good stead. For me we've got a very strong squad and every game we go into we believe we can win the game, so we just go again and look for the three points.”
