Latics are a soft touch

Latics manager John Sheridan has labelled his team a soft touch. After the defeat at Vale Park he said, "Obviously it's not nice to lose 3-0, and we need to develop a ruthless streak. I don't think any of the players have it barring Sean Gregan and Richie Wellens, and you could see how much they were missed tonight."

"I'm the manager of this club and I didn't like losing. I was a moaner and groaner and I want my players to do that. They need to have a go at each other more. That goes for the young lads too. Even if they're eighteen or nineteen, they can still tell people what to do. However, we're still second and this might be lesson for us. We were bullied tonight, and some of the lads didn't want to know."
