Latics boss admits his team can't defend

Latics manager Ronnie Moore has commented on his teams feeble defending. Moore said, "At this present time we can't defend and it has cost us. You can't concede 13 goals in eight games and expect to be in the top half of the table. Yet there was nothing in the game in the first half until we give away a sloppy goal and Paul Warne is sent off. At 2-0 it was backs to the wall and you are left thinking that we didn't deserve that. We came out in the second half with a bit of spirit, fight and desire, but it is all about taking your chances. If you take your chance like Richie Wellens and Chris Porter, and they were both good opportunities, then all of a sudden you are back in it. It is a different ball game."

"But to get done with a sucker punch like a little one-two on the edge of the box for their third, that's what I mean when I say we can't defend. It is all about being organised and doing the right things. We didn't do that and against a decent side you are always going to get punished. I told the lads at half-time that we are giving away too many silly goals, but we are missing five centre backs and the sooner we get some back, the better."
