Latics drawn away in Carling Cup

Athletic have been drawn away at Burnley in the second round of the Carling Cup. They will make the short visit to Turf Moor for the tie which will be played in the week commencing 27th. August.

Other matches of interest are Manchester City who will travel to Ashton Gate to face Bristol City, whereas Bristol Rovers entertain West Ham. Newcastle will play Barnsley and a midlands derby sees Nottingham Forest visit neighbours Leicester City. Morecambe have been rewarded for winning at Preston in round one by visiting Wolves in a lucrative tie.
