Latics hit with double injury blow

A double injury blow has been dealt to Athletic before they take on Wrexham. Mark Hudson and David Eyres (pictured) are both declared doubtful for the trip to Wales as they both took knocks in Saturdays loss at Tranmere. Hudson has an ankle knock and Eyres picked up a foot injury.

Iain Dowie is hoping that finances will be provided so that he will be allowed to re-sign Hudson until the end of the season. Eyres took his knock in the first half but played the second half in pain before being substituted. Eyres is still unable to walk properly and Dowie said, “We’ll wait and see but I can’t see him being ready for Tuesday.”

If Eyres doesn’t make it he will probably be replaced by Ernie Cooksey and David Beharall will probably step in as a straight swop for Hudson.
