The Latics have approached North West Counties Football League side Nantwich Town with a view to take forward Wes Wilkinson, who has been on trial at Boundary Park, on a one month loan. Wilkinson (19) has impressed in a couple of reserve team outings and scored a cracker against Stockport and also impressed against Manchester City.Nantwich had previously agreed a fee of £10,000 with Stafford Rangers but the player's personal terms became a stumbling block. Wes is usually a striker but has been playing on the left wing for Athletic.
