Athletic have decided that five of their young professionals are to be made available to go out on loan. Latics boss John Sheridan is keen for the youngsters to gain valuable experience and anticipates that League Two and Conference teams will be keen to take them on to give them first team experience.

The players available are front runners Matt Wolfenden (pictured) and Matty Barlow, defenders Chris Lever and Michael Pearson and midfielder Chris Baguley, who were all handed full time contracts last summer. Of the five, only Wolfenden and Barlow have made one substitute appearance each this season. Their names have been circulated to clubs to announce their availablility.
