Latics receive good news on injury front

After a long spell out for David Berehall and a stop-start Latics career for Chris Killen, both players have this week received news that they will soon fully recover from their injuries.

Killen received the news on Monday that his 5th metatarsal in his foot had healed and didn't actually need any surgery at all. That dispelled fears that the Kiwi might need a pin in his foot and a 6 month lay off. He has been told that after a period of rest, he should be able to start a reserve match within a month.

As for Berehall, the former Newcastle Utd defender also has his sights set on a return in mid September. The likely date will probably be against Wycombe away as he recovers from tendonitis in the right knee. This news will be music in Iain Dowie's ears after PKF quashed hopes of squad additions this week. The return of Berehall and Killen can't come soon enough now.
